Happiness and self worth have an elusive partnership. Its rare if not impossible to feel happy, true happiness if you don’t feel you deserve it.  And it’s very hard to have self worth and not feel happy.  They dance together like partners in a waltz one leading gracefully into another.


In order to feel true and lasting happiness, one needs to erect the pillars of self esteem that allow us to receive, to give and to ultimately feel and accept happiness into our lives.  Feeling worthy of happiness is often just a mindset that needs to be changed. One way to help create a mindset of receiving happiness is through affirmations. After all, we all deserve to be happy.   And happiness is choice we can make despite our circumstances.


An affirmation is a statement you make over and over until it becomes accepted into your mind as true.  We can use affirmations like this to help us accept and welcome happiness into our lives.   We can use affirmations as a tool to change behavior and patterns of thinking that do not serve our greater good.


Try saying this affirmation three times before going to bed for a week and see what happens:


“At this moment I choose to be happy and to welcome happiness into my life.  I acknowledge my power to choose to be happy and I am fully deserving and worthy of being happy.  I smile right now because I am happy. ”
